Our client is a multinational organization within the hospitality industry.  Due to a promotion within the group, a position now exists for a Director of Tax.  This position will be located in Toronto

Position Description

Responsible for providing guidance on tax matters.  Perform tax research and planning with respect to strategic issues, treasury, and business restructuring for local and international initiatives.

 

• Review and advise the finance group with respect to acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures and other strategic initiatives regarding tax issues, and the development of tax-efficient solutions consistent with relevant business objectives. These may include:

• Research technical issues and prepare appropriate reports.

• Manage or conduct tax due diligence related to acquisitions.

• Review and draft contracts addressing appropriate tax matters.

• Assist the finance group and relevant business unit with the quantification of tax detriments and benefits related to proposed transactions including review of appropriate financial models and data.

• Review and advise Treasury regarding public debt offerings, financings, hedging and other related

• Prepare technical transactional summaries and memorandums.

Qualifications

• 5 - 7 years experience in tax, preferably within a public accounting firm.

• Must possess excellent technical skills

• Must possess excellent research and communication skills.

• CA, CMA or CGA designation required

• CICA in-depth level 2 tax course required
