Position
Description
 
Our client’s Toronto office is seeking a highly qualified Real Estate Associate with a minimum of three years of experience in sophisticated real estate transactions.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic and globally connected practice advising on a full spectrum of matters, including:
  • Joint ventures and large-scale development projects
  • Acquisitions and dispositions of single assets and multi-property portfolios
  • Real estate M&A transactions
  • REIT and related corporate real estate structures
  • Construction, mortgage, and mezzanine financings
  • Structured finance transactions, securitizations, and loan-on-loan financings
Associates work collaboratively across offices and disciplines on high-profile domestic and cross-border transactions. The role provides significant client exposure and the opportunity to work on complex, high-stakes real estate matters from inception through closing.
This position offers the opportunity to build a sophisticated real estate practice within a globally recognized platform while working from Toronto.
 
Qualifications
 
  • Minimum three years of experience in complex real estate transactions at a leading law firm
  • Demonstrated experience with joint ventures, development projects, acquisitions, dispositions, and real estate financings
  • Experience advising institutional investors, private equity funds, REITs, or financial institutions is strongly preferred
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Commercial acumen and an understanding of the business of real estate investing
  • Qualified to practice law in Ontario (or eligible for admission)
